Brief History

Guess & Co has grown from a small shop called L Guess in Whitton, Middlesex in the 1940’s started by Leslie Guess. He worked as a Watchmaker in the war and some years later decided to start his own business. His son Michael followed in his footsteps and went straight into the trade from school, later taking over the Whitton shop. In years to come he decided to expand the business to the Sussex coastal town of Littlehampton. His apprentice, Lawrence, took over the running of the Whitton store in 1983 until 2003 when Mark, the current owner, took over from Lawrence after finishing his apprenticeship. Lawrence then went on to start up Guess & Co Jewellers in 2011 in Surbiton High Street.
